We were there last time and there were a couple of dogs in the patio
The food tasted good and there was plenty to eat but it was warm, not hot. Overall the restaurant felt dirty. The table was sticky and the basket of condiments on the table were old and cruddy.
Very very very rude service at this place thought I would try something new and i ended up getting same old attitude you get from people that don't like their job
Still has great food. But I miss the old Archie's with the drawing paper on the tables.
Okay tourist spot but too expensive for a diner breakfast for what it was.Cold morning, door was open and place was empty and chilly at 10 am.
Amazing food. Even better service. The staff here are awesome. Really big area seating. Nothing bad to say here. Everyone should come and try it anything on the menu Cause it's all good.
Excellent flavors and clean place to eat! Huevos rancheros the best!
Good was just ok and expensive for what you got. Also the staff looked miserable and uncareling.
Excellent “Monterey” burger. Slow pace and small town feel. Loved it.
Pretty good food and nice staff
Food is delicious. Everytime I come in here I try something new and I have no complaints everything hit the spot. I recomend a burger for lunch and for breakfast the Huebos rancheros.. garlic fries are really good. Too. :) oh and the service is great.
Big burgers, they don't come with fries but the sandwiches do. The food was tasty,a bit greasy but we liked our food.
Fresh. Fresh was the word that spewed from my lips as I swallowed my first bite of turkey club. They were fast and curtious and the food was delicious. I will bo back for burgers sometime. But not untill I have more money cause they are a little too expensive for me TBH.
Tasty burgers & garlic fries!
Lower quantity and quality of food and higher prices. We usually love going to Archies but this time we got only a handful of fries and the burgers had smaller meat patties and they were soaked with grease.
This has always been a favorite of mine, but in the past years the price has gone up and the portions has shrunk dramatically. A $16 order of fish n chips should be a little more than look like a kid size order. Service has also gone do e too as we ordered clam chowder and never received it. We ended up getting a refund instead. Very disappointed in what this place has turned into.
Slightly off the main drag, but worth visiting if you want to get away from the tourist-filled places on Cannery Row. Classic style diner, but with counter service (not table service). Decent tasting meals at reasonable prices for the area. I may have only given 3 stars as it is basic and not as accessible (but that can be subjective), but don't let that put you off popping in for a meal. Still worth a visit if you're in the area.
Lovely clam chowder but could have been hotter
Food was mediocre at best. Only 2 people working and tables needed to be cleaned. Price is decent for the area but wasn't anything special. $5 for added fries and drink to meal is a bit steep. Probably would not eat again unless absolutely had to. Wasn't bad but wasn't great either. I think the 3/5 star rating is had is pretty accurate here.
Have been coming here for years, and it was a favorite. But this time, I think it's changed hands. Decor is different. Beers and wine replaced old fashioned milkshakes. In the past, it's always been busy. Not this time, which says it all. I would recommend the sweet potato fries.
A great place to eat a block away from the aquarium. The food was delicious and there are lots of menu options I would like to try in the future.
The food was okay. I saw a few bugs on the ground while I was eating inside the restaurant. My family wasn't too satisfied with the food choices they made but my burger was pretty good.
Do not come to this place. Food was old and reheated, burned and flavorless. The cups were dirty and our breakfast not so fast.
Food was good and fairly priced, especially for the area. Staff was very friendly and prompt. Only rating a 4 star because it seemed like it could use some upgrades to the interior decorations
We went in, were not greeted by anyone after awhile of standing there, so we sat ourselves. Then we were ignored. The staff look like they're going through the motions. After waiting for 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge our existence, we left. I'm not going to risk my taste buds (and health!) on a restaurant that is clearly on the decline.
Great service fast and efficient. I ordered the Monterey chicken sandwich. It was very well prepared with delicious seasoning. We originally wanted clam chowder but when asked about it they told us it was prepared from canned soup we were turned off. So just be aware if you're looking for a local clam chowder this is not the spot for it. Check out the pier Fisherman's Wharf for homemade clam chowder.
Mimosas, Garlic fries ,fish tacos, and chicken Cesar wrap were so good 😊 quick and delicious..this place is under rated.
Good food.
It was fine, but nothing special. My quesadilla tasted like Taco Bell's breakfast menu, which isn't terrible, but begs the question, what's the point? The music they were playing was really loud and edgy, which I personally enjoyed, but isn't really for the general public. All together it was just an okay experience
Had the pancakes. Fluffy, brought out within the first 10 minutes, along with the rest of my family's meal. Good eating- great service.
Good milkshakes but interior needs some major scrubbing.
Food was good. No waite
Great food in Monterey.
I honestly felt scared to eat the food. It smelt musty when I walked in and the sauces on the table looked expired. Guy was polite but I didn’t feel confident that anyone is caring for the place or putting any heart into it. The building has so much potential but unless someone gets in there to make sure people feel good about the quality of the food, idk how they can stay open. There was not a soul in the restaurant around lunch time during free aquarium week and that concerns me.
This is a great restaurant about a block from the aquarium, it has become an essential vpart of my aquarium day. Food is great and the menu has lots of options to choose from.
Good breakfast hollandaise eggs
Our particular experience was good. The staff was nice and they were attentive. We went here for brunch and got the Archie’s. I don’t think you can really go wrong with toast, eggs, potatoes, and bacon. The toast was pre-buttered and toasted with garlic; I liked it. The potatoes has a little kick; I liked it. The eggs and bacon were exactly how I liked them.
Unreasonably overpriced with poor service and ingredients and long wait for the order. Better wait for a seat at the First Awakenings
Stood there for about 15 minutes and wasn’t even acknowledged. Very poor service. And no, it wasn’t busy.
Hamburgers are great! The prices are a little high and the booths are pretty run down.
Pretty good, decent hamburger, good milkshake, mom liked her BLT. They could stand to be a little more helpful, they seemed indifferent.Casual atmosphere.
Good basks fish tacos and no lines. Nice staff
Not recommended. I order fajitas and the size was too small, it was mostly rice and beans and a tiny portion of meat. Also some of the cups they gave us were dirty. The taste was ok, but overall it was frustrating and the quality for the price was not ok.
Great place to sit on a patio and enjoy a well-made and affordable breakfast. Admittedly, I would not have sat inside as there is a mustiness in the air. Guess that's how life goes being near the water.
Burger was good. Fries were just ok
Diner is right across from Monterey Bay Aquarium, great food and great staff
Went here with my family bought some carne asada tacos, price was good but most of all they were made spot on, definitely will be returning.
Great food. Nice staff.
Great food and so close to the aquarium that we had visited. Such great food
Do yourself a favor. Get a Monterey burger. The cook is excellent
Ate breakfast there this morning. Best breakfast since we’ve been here. Husband had the breakfast sandwich and he said it was the best he’s ever had. I had a mushroom omelette...probably one of the better ones I’ve had. Very flavorful. Breakfast potatoes were perfect as was my toast. Breakfast was piping hot and served in a very reasonable amount of time. Floor was not dirty. Great music playing and not too loud. We were so glad we didn’t read reviews before we went!!! Highly recommend!!!
